The Twins' Quests

Nestled in Aether’s Hoofprint, The Oasis, is a waterfall. Though the water now flows clear and perfect, the memory of The Red Star is forever echoed in the shimmering Star Touched stones that litter it’s banks. The Red Star glows dimly up above, a reminder that all who follow it will eventually end up here: The gateway to Tyndariai’s Crypts.

Lounging on either side of the waterfall, bored and bickering sentinels, are The Twins. Antares and Betelgeuse guard their Masters like watch dogs, preventing the untrustworthy from starting their journey behind the falls. Your Ballator approaches the falls cautiously and curiously and both twins snap to attention.

“Look at that, brother,” Betelgeuse drawls with a flash of too many fangs, “This little one wants a gift from The Masters.”

Antares does not reply to her, but instead regards your Ballator coolly, his eyes betraying his interest. Mortal lives and minds will always be fascinating to a Troubadour, no matter who made them or why they were made. Antares and Betelgeuse are no different.

“If you want a gift so badly,” his voice oozes an insincere charm, “Then why don’t you prove you’re worth getting them first…”

Rules for Completing The Twins' Quests

Though Ballators do not need to be pledged to Tyndariai to obtain some of their gifts, that does not mean that Tyndariai does not watch all who wish to obtain their more desirable gifts. The Twins, Betelgeuse and Antares, assist Tyndariai in this endeavor  by running would-be gifted Ballators through a series of short Quests to prove their willpower.

Necrosis, Antiquis Iuba, and Inlustris may be obtained by these quests, but only one of them may be chosen by the end. If a Ballator does not wish to obtain Antiquis Iuba and Inlustris via stats, this Questline offers another way, and if one does not see themselves pledging to Tyndariai, Necrosis can be obtained this way instead.

Entering the Quests

Please be sure to review the General Quest Guidelines. Below you will find Twin Quest Specific Guidelines.

  • A Ballator can only gain Tyndariai’s Gifts through The Twins’ Quests ONCE, though they may do the quests as many times as they please.
  • Your Ballator can only appeal to ONE aspect of Tyndariai: The Head of Life or the Head of Death. Each head has their own spin on the gifts they may grant.
  • Ballators must complete both Antares’ and Betelgeuse’s quests before entering The Crypts to recieve their gift.
  • Ballators may be pledged to another Highlord and still complete these quests.
  • All offerings should be made through The Highlord Meeting Place. Please keep track of your offerings for proof.
  • Quest art and literature entries must be accepted into the group in order to count towards the prompts.
  • Level entries must be titled as such: (Horse name) | (Which Twins Quests) | (Which Head You’re Appealing to)
    • Example: 9248 Zenxora | Antares | Life
  • You must state in the description of the piece which Twin’s Quests you are completing and which head you are appealing to.
  • Choosing which head to appeal to will only have story consequences, unless you are choosing to pick Necrosis at the end. Should you appeal to the Head of Life, you will be granted light necrosis, and should you appeal to the Head of Death, you will be granted dark necrosis.
  • Once you pick which head you appeal to, you may only do the quests for the specific head. – Ballators must complete both quests. The resulting prize may only be applied to the Ballator who completes the quests.

Antares' Quest

Your Ballator raises their brows at the snorting stallion before them. Antares, the war-like twin looks at your Ballator with mischief glittering in his eyes. Not one to mince words and make small talk, the stallion grumbles out a clipped:

“You must appeal to either the Great Head of Death or the Great Head of Life.”

At first he does not elaborate, but after a long moment punctuated by an annoyed snort from his sister, Antares adds an addendum.

“Each of Tyndariai’s heads thinks together but separate, just as how life and death are intertwined. You may only appeal to one mind and head. The mind you appeal to must be the same for my quest and my sister’s.”

If your Ballator appealed to Tyndariai’s Head of Life, you must  complete the  following:
  • Offer 1x Tournament Potion to Tyndariai , forfeiting the typical reward in order to receive your chosen gift later.
