Murmillo, the Warrior

If learning how to rush into battle and handle a beating is something you strive for, then becoming a Murmillo is the perfect option. As you learn to become a Murmillo Master, you should take care in the paths you choose and plan ahead. If you fail to know where to keep your ground, you may find yourself on the wrong side.

A Murmillo is best equipped with the following stats:

  • Stamina
  • Strength
  • Attack Strength

Level One

 
  • As a foal did you enjoy sparring with other foals or did you find it less than enjoyable? Did you fight as often as you could or did you avoid it?
    • Requirements: 4 stats.
 
  • Now that you can be out on your own, you must make a warrior’s journey to find yourself. Where do you go? Why do you go there?
    • Requirements: 4 stats. 
 
  • You run into a Ballator claiming to be a warrior. You notice that they seem itching for a fit. Do you choose to fight them or do you walk away? Do you relate to this Ballator or do you despise them?
    • Requirements: 5 stats. A Group Horse or Murmillo Master must be depicted.
 
  • After leaving behind the other warrior, it left you thinking, what kind of warrior do you want to be? Tough and stoic? Loving and careful?
    • Requirements: 5 stats. Minimum 100 word story for visual entries.
 
 
  • For this lesson, please link to a Ballator that your Ballator really wants to fight some day. Is it a highlord, a troubadour, or maybe just some other Ballator? Why this one in particular?
    • Please create a thread in the Cursus Honorum forum using THIS form in order to complete your test. Be sure to link to who your ballator wants to fight someday and briefly explain why.
Prizes for Completing Level One:
  • One of the Following: 1x Medium Melanistic Pelt or 1x Medium Albino Pelt
  • One of the Following: 1x Leather Horn Cap or 1x Horn Goads

    • Takes 5% reduced damage in fights

Level Two

 
  • Upon your journey, you become surrounded by bandits. You’re not sure what they want but it’s clear they do not want to play nice. How do you handle them?
    • Requirements: 4 stats
    • If the bandits are Ballators, they must be registered. Group Horses may be used.
 
  • As you finish off the last of them, a Ballator arrives, chasing them off and making sure they do not reuturn. They thank you for dispatching them so quickly and offer to teach you. What does your ballator think of this all?
    • Requirements: 4 stats. A Group Horse or Andabata Master must be depicted.
 
  • The first step to becoming a warrior is training your body. You teacher suggests you find a heavy object like a boulder or tree to push up a large hill. Alternatively, you may find other means to work out your muscles. The important part is tat you are working your body.
    • Requirements: 5 stats.
 
  • The next step to becoming a warrior is training your mind. A sound mind makes it so you can make the best decisions in the midst of battle. Your teacher tells you that you must look within yourself and find what is or might be holding you back. Are you afraid of death? Do you feel that you are not strong enough?
    • Requirements: 5 stats. Minimum 100 word story for visual entries.
 
  • In order to become a Warrior, there is a test that they must pass. They will be given 3 questions that must be answered. take these questions as seriously as your fights.

Prizes for Completing Level Two:
  • One of the Following: 1x Mouth Guard or 1x Fang Goads
  • One of the following: 1x Strength Potion or 1x Intelligence Potion
  • Thick Skin
    • Takes 10% reduced damage in fights

Level Three

 
  • After your rigorous training, you must take your fears head on. You must let go of everything that is holding you back and live your life fearlessly. How do you take on your fears?
    • Requirements: 5 stats
 
  • Now that you have conquered your fears, your teacher believes that you are almost ready to become a master yourself. Your teacher challenges you to spar them.
    • Requirements: 4 stats. A Group Horse or Murmillo Master must be depicted.
 
  • Your teacher is impressedd by your progress and says that to be a warrior, you must have armour suiting of that title. It should be armour that represents who you are as a Ballator and warrior. What does it look like?
    • Requirements: 4 stats.
 
  • You are one step closer to becoming a Murmillo master, but there is one last thing you must do in order to prove yourself. Your ballator must hunt down one of the Ancient Kings in Regale’s Glade.
    • Requirements: 5 stats
    • This prompt can double as a hunt but must follow the rules of the hunting system.
 
 
  • As your final lesson, you must define what your fighting style is. Do you like fighting head or do you prefer to hang back a bit?
    • Please create a thread in the Cursus Honorum forum using THIS form in order to complete your test. Be sure to describe your fighting style including a name for it if you have one.

Murmillo Mastery - Choose Your Specialty

It’s been a long tiring process and youre finally near the end. There’s just one last step you need to take before you’re considered a Master. 
Do you choose to go the route of light and follow in the paths of righteousness, giving yourself up for others?
Or do you choose to go the route of darkness and follow in the path of injustice, following only yourself and those like you?

Bonum

To choose the path of light your ballator  is choosing to place their faith in Aether and Tyndariai. To demonstrate this, your ballator must craft a Badge of Light. To craft it, you will need the following:

  • 1x Medium Albino Pelt
  • 1x Leather Horn Cap
  • 1x Mouth Guard
  • 1x Intelligence Potion
  • 1x Battlecry Potion
  • 1x Broken Horn

Use this form to turn these items to craft a Badge of Light and officially become an Andabata Bonum Master.

As an Andabata Bonum Master your ballator will get the bonus from Andabta Level 3 as well as:

  • Intimidating Aura
    • 50% chance an attack on them will miss

Malum

To choose the path of darkness your ballator  is choosing to place their faith in Hannibal and Ares. To demonstrate this, your ballator must craft a Badge of Darkness. To craft it, you will need the following:

  • 1x Medium Melanistic Pelt
  • 1x Horn Goads
  • 1x Fang Goads
  • 1x Strength Potion
  • 1x Bloodlust Potion
  • 1x Ballator Fang

Use this form to turn these items to craft a Badge of Darkness and officially become an Andabata Malum Master.

As an Andabata Malum Master your ballator will get the bonus from Andabta Level 3 as well as:

  • Iron Teeth
    • 25% increase in damage given
