Majus, the Magic User

If learning the inner magic of the world interests you, then becoming an Majus is the perfect option. As you learn to become a Majus Master, you should take care in the paths you choose and plan ahead. If you fail to keep your eye out for the right energy, you may find your own magic fizzled out.

A Majus is best equipped with the following stats:

  • Experience
  • Intelligence
  • Stamina

Level One

 
  • When was the first time your ballator ever experienced magic? Was it scary? Did it hurt them? Is this a normal part of their lives? What were their thoughts?
    • Requirements: 5 stats. Minimum 100 word story required for visual entries. 
 
  • To become a true Majus, you need to find out what your calling is. To do this, you must go on a journey to find potential magic sources or areas that call to you. Do you have an inkling of where you might find your calling or are you taking a wild guess?
    • Requirements: 4 stats.
 
  • Upon this journey, you happen to run into a magic user that seems to be quite powerful. What do you think of this power? Is the way  they are using their magic something you admire or is it something you fear?
    • Requirements: 4 stats. A Group Horse or Majus Master must be shown.
 
  • After the runin with the magic user, your ballator somehow stumbles upon a cave with crude drawings on the walls. It appears that these drawings depict Ballators using elemental. What kind of knowledge does your Ballator get from these drawings?
    • Requirements: 5 stats
 
 
  • For this prompt, your Ballator will be tested on their knowledge of magic. They will be given 3 questions they must answer. They must pick one element to be tested on: earth, air, fire, and water. You must pass this test of knowledge in order to be acknowledge as worthy of being trained as a Majus.
    • Please create a thread in the Cursus Honorum forum using THIS form in order to complete your test. Be sure to pick one element to be tested on.
 
Prizes for Completing Level One:
  • Two of the following: 1x Ancient Bones, 1x Burning Twig, 1x Earth Stones, and 1x Glowing Feathers
  • Shielding Power
    • Takes 5% reduced damage in fights

Level Two

 
  • After passing the test, your ballator recieves an invitation to somewhere they hadn’t heard of before. Before they even have a moment to decide if they will go, they are transported to the place. What does it look like? Is it alien and bizarre or familiar?
    • Requirements: 4 stats
 
  • Suddenly, a Ballator appears before your ballator. They welcome them to this place and explain that after seeing your test results that they would love to teach you. Do you immediately accept their offer or are you skeptical of their magic ability?
    • Requirements: 4 stats. A Group Horse or Majus Master must be depicted.
 
  • As you struggled to find your true calling to magic, your teacher suggests you meditate and search within yourself. What do you see? Is the answer clear or vague?
    • Requirements: 4 stats
 
  • After searching within yourself, you think you have a clear idea of the magic the world and you possess. Your teacher suggests that you visit a land so full of magic that it never stays in one place. Draw or write your Ballator  in either The Deadwoods or The Enchanted Forest
    • Requirements: 5 stats
 
  • For this lesson, your Ballator needs to pick a magic user they look up to. This could be a highlord, another ballator with magic, or any other magic user. Briefly explain why they inspire your ballator.

Prizes for Completing Level Two:
  • One of the following: 1x Willow Wood or 1x Birch Wood
  • One of the following: 1x Peridot or 1x Citrine
  • Healing Touch
    • Heals 5% of lost herd health

Level Three

 
  • When you return from the magical place, your teacher is nowhere to be found, almost like they disappeared. Use your power to investigate what happened. 
    • Requirements: 4 stats
 
  • You decide to find your teacher or at least keep an eye out for them. However, as you travel a giant fantastical creature finds you. How do you deal with them? Do you calm them down or do you attack?
    • Requirements: 4 stats.
    • The creature may be any kind of fantasy creature or creature within the Ballator lore locations.
 
  • After taking care of the beast, your teacher appears before you impressed. They challenge you to a magic duel.
    • Requirements: 5 stats. A Group Horse or Majus Master must be depicted.
 
  • After the duel, your teacher explains that they feel you are ready to almost become a master. The last step is for you to go out on your own and find a magic unique to you.
    • Requirements:  5 stats. Minimum 100 word story for visual entries.
 
  • For this last lesson, your Ballator will be asked to pick one kind of magic to specialize in and write a brief descriptiob of it. While Majus can have the ability to weild many kinds of magics, many have one that defines them.
    • Please create a thread in the Cursus Honorum forum using THIS form in order to complete your test. Be sure to state what magic your Ballator would like to specialize in and a brief description of it.

  • One of the following: 1x Battlecry Potion or 1x Bloodlust Potion
  • Magical Blow
    • Gives 5% more damage in fights

Majus Mastery - Choose Your Specialty

It’s been a long tiring process and youre finally near the end. There’s just one last step you need to take before you’re considered a Master. 
Do you choose to go the route of light and follow in the paths of righteousness, giving yourself up for others?
Or do you choose to go the route of darkness and follow in the path of injustice, following only yourself and those like you?

Bonum

To choose the path of light your ballator  is choosing to place their faith in Aether and Ares. To demonstrate this, your ballator must craft a Badge of Light. To craft it, you will need the following:

  • 1x Glowing Feathers
  • 1x Earth Stones
  • 1x Willow Wood
  • 1x Peridot
  • 1x Bittersweet Ending
  • 1x Battlecry Potion

Use this form to turn these items to craft a Badge of Light and officially become an Andabata Bonum Master.

As an Majus Bonum Master your ballator will get the bonus from Majus Level 1, 2, and 3 as well as:

  • Healing Aura
    • Heals 25% of lost herd health

Malum

To choose the path of darkness your ballator  is choosing to place their faith in Hannibal and Tyndariai. To demonstrate this, your ballator must craft a Badge of Darkness. To craft it, you will need the following:

  • 1x Ancient Bones
  • 1x Burning Twig
  • 1x Birch Wood
  • 1x Citrine
  • 1x Lover’s Heart
  • 1x Bloodlust Potion

Use this form to turn these items to craft a Badge of Darkness and officially become an Andabata Malum Master.

As an Majus Malum Master your ballator will get the bonus from Majus Level 1, 2 and 3 as well as:

  • Invisible
    • 25% chance an attack on them will miss
