The Red Star of last year is dim, a distant memory of change and a also a reminder of things yet to come. The Charred Plains are open now, more alive but more fraught with peril than ever. As the air gets cooler, more frigid, herds start to band together. Life on The Charred Plains is easier when Ballators can band together.
Five herds make themselves known and each one stands for something different. Earning their favor may sometimes be difficult, but if ever there was a season to start, it is this one.
Prompt One: The Warriors
Aether’s Warriors, under the care of the young but headstrong Elementor, put the needs of others above themselves when possible.
In the spirit of the season, and in Aether’s honor, draw or write one of your Ballators exchanging a gift with a Ballator that belongs to another group member.

Prompt Two: The Legion
Hannibal’s Legion doesn’t have a herd leader, but more of a commander. On The Charred Plains, Apophis has been reborn through The Lowlord as a monster all his own. His zealous army are likeminded when it comes to the idea of self importance and power.
To combat the cold nights on The Charred Plains, draw or write your Ballator reclining by the fire in an act of self preservation or self care.

Prompt Three: The Hunters
Ares Hunters run beside their indomitable leader, Yvonne. This herd is always on the move, often working hard to keep the population of Hannibal and Tyndariai’s ghouls down to a minimum while policing The Charred Plains.
Draw or write your Ballator hunting with two friends in either The Deadwoods or The Enchanted Forest. One Ballator must be owned by another member.

Prompt Four: The Acolytes
Tyndariai’s Acolytes are guided by Tisiphone, a practiced pontificator. This is less of a traditional herd and more of a cult worshiping The Deathlord. It appeares as though Tyndariai does not acknowledge the herd themselves, as they rarely acknowledge the individuals. In his image, The Acolytes look above themselves and are more focused on balance and order on The Charred Plains.
Draw or write your Ballator with one foal cleaning up dead overgrowth in Aether’s Hoofprint. The foal may be owned by yourself or by another member.

Prompt Five: The Wayfarers
Unlike the other herds with their patrons and allegiances, The Wayfarers are more free in their beliefs. No one god, or perhaps no god at all, claims these Ballators. Elected by his herd for his own merits, Carpophorus welcomes all who prove themselves, regardless of where they come from.
Draw your Ballator with 2 different creatures belonging to someone else. These can be OCs or other ARPG breeds. They can belong to the same person, or to different people. The creatures can be equines, but they cannot be other Equus Ballators.

It was only a year ago that Tyndariai first put their hooves down on The Charred Plains, but already their words and warnings are being forgotten. As is the nature of things, the Ballators who live on The Plains are once again choosing sides. The wheel of life may wobble again if a careful balance isn’t kept— but that’s not determined by gods this time.
