Fargo’s Letter

Hello beloved members of the Equus Ballator community,
I know it has been a very long time since you all have heard from me, and for that I am very sorry and ask for forgiveness. As it is wont to do, life outside of the internet has taken my full attention and I have found it increasingly difficult to find spare time to get online at all, or even to simply draw. It’s been a source of a lot of pain for me this last year as I feel as though I am unable to do what I love most.

That being said, the group, the admins, and the members have never left my mind. I deeply miss interacting with the community that Equus Ballators has gained over the years, the sheer creativity of everyone involved, the amazing stories that have been created, and the fun that EB’s has brought to everyone. Like many of you, Ballators have become a big part of my life and something I find a lot of joy in. This is why the decision to put the group on hiatus until further notice has hit me so hard – but though it will be difficult, please do not think that Ballators are gone for good.

My current inability to be there for the admins and the members alike as well as being unable to assist in daily group functions has caused a lot of stress and difficulty. As most of you know, after the major DeviantArt changes that forced us to move off-site, the group has been in limbo, stuck between two worlds and it has been very difficult to manage. It is not fair to the admin team or to you, the members, for the group to struggle as it is now. We need system reboots, a fully functioning website where we can be in one place, and many other assets that I cannot currently help or even begin to facilitate at this time.

But, as I mentioned, Ballators will not be gone for good. Please, draw them. Use them. Compete in HARPG events, create stories, expand their own histories, use your current Ballators to their fullest extent! I don’t want the breed to vanish simply because the group is not currently active. You all have poured so much into your horses, and I couldn’t be more proud of the community we have built. I cherish the group; it’s my baby, and I am constantly humbled by the amount of people who love this breed as much as I do. I know this will be very difficult, but please understand we only have best intentions in mind.

Thank you all for being such a wonderful part of not only my life but the life of the Equus Ballator group. One day, hopefully sooner rather than later, I hope to be able to re-open this HARPG in a way that ensures smooth sailing. Until I can promise that, we will be on hiatus, but I look forward to that day!

Love, Fargo
